This handmade tea set from Jingdezhen is made of ceramic and designed for two, with one teapot and two Yashou-style teacups. The rounded teapot is finished in a green mineral glaze with irregular gold-toned flecks.
Both teacups are small Yashou-style cups, with gently flared rims, rounded bodies and foot rings. Once the tea has cooled to a comfortable drinking temperature, the cups do not feel hot in the hand and are easier to hold.
The teapot’s full, rounded form is described as a “Yuanman” shape—a symbol of wholeness and a quiet wish for a fulfilling life.
With a 140 ml capacity, the small teapot is suited to one or two people and works well for afternoon tea alone, tea shared between two, the office, or a small gathering with family and friends.
